We home-schooled our girls latterly when in Canada, and wished we'd done it a whole heap earlier. We found the trick was to have plenty of extra-curricular activities besides home schooling. Socialising came along with them, like it or not, without trying. For instance: riding on a Monday, swimming on a Tuesday. choral singing on a Wednesday, shopping (to a menu chosen by each girl for a week at a time - in turn) - so they learned budgetting. Friday was meeting up with friends (preferably at your or their homes, with a modicum of supervision.
