A lot had happened in those 20 years, and since Elise was just a baby when she was taken, she has lots of questions of her past, but no answers. But, there is a light in her, that has always been in her. Just as it is always in each one of us. The light of the Father that loves us and created us, and has a destiny for each of us.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">That's why the theme, forgetting to remember, is so important. We must forget what we think we are to remember what He knows we are, forget what others call us and remember what He calls us. And we need to forget what we tell ourselves, and remember to hear His voice amongst the clamor of our lives. I don't want to give away details, because this story is so worth savoring, but I can tell you that just like the first 2 books, this is full of love, action, romance, fear, and a calling to us, the reader, from our Father. Just listen and remember.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a few facts about the author, Rachelle Dekker. If the name sounds familiar it's because she is the uniquely talented daughter of Ted Dekker. I say uniquely because while you can see traces of her dad in her writing, Rachelle is a talent all her own.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-g5DTp7xh-Z4/WIqOaCdHarI/AAAAAAAAL4Q/YlS58Ujlwksr7cnUTDARqGeoyJ29JnDAwCLcB/s1600/pic_full_Dekker_Rachelle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-g5DTp7xh-Z4/WIqOaCdHarI/AAAAAAAAL4Q/YlS58Ujlwksr7cnUTDARqGeoyJ29JnDAwCLcB/s320/pic_full_Dekker_Rachelle.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Let's look at some answers that Rachelle provided for this book review tour.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u>What themes are explored in this book?</u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Identity is something I am always exploring, so that’s no different in The Returning. But in this</div><div style="text-align: center;">novel I took a really hard look at forgiveness and how that relates to our journey of discovering</div><div style="text-align: center;">who we really are.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u>How have Carrington and Remko developed as characters throughout this series?</u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Well, we meet them as young adults, just out of their teen years, and we find them middle-aged in</div><div style="text-align: center;">book three. So we’ve journeyed quite a bit of life with them. They have grown and changed, as</div><div style="text-align: center;">people do, and even in this last novel they struggle with remembering their true identities. I</div><div style="text-align: center;">believe life is always stretching us and showing us different ways to love, so their growth reflects that.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u>You talk about the power of belief in the book. What is the purpose of faith, and what</u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u>makes faith so powerful in people’s lives?</u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Belief and faith are everything. We form our own realities. We make judgments based on the past</div><div style="text-align: center;">and what we think the future will bring; then we shape our idea of what we are capable of around</div><div style="text-align: center;">those beliefs. Imagine if we truly believed we were infinite sons and daughters of the creator. How </div><div style="text-align: center;">different would the world look then? When we believe and have faith in who the Father calls us, then the world looks pretty different.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div><b><u>How do you hope this book will resonate with your readers?</u></b></div><div>I hope, as with both of the other books, that the reader sees themselves in the characters and</div><div>that the story causes them to look inward. To ask hard questions like, Who am I? What am I</div><div>capable of? Do I see myself the way the Father does? Can I? I hope it challenges their idea of</div><div>identity and then gives them hope to see themselves and others more clearly. Because that’s</div><div>how these stories have impacted me, and we are all really just the same.</div><div><br /></div><div>I resoundingly give this novel 5 thumbs up....5 stars....and and enthusiastic yahoo.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div><div><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div><span style="font-size: x-small;">*I received a copy of this book from Tyndale House for my honest and original review,*</span></div></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-73922525941715063352017-01-25T14:25:00.002-05:002017-01-25T14:25:49.916-05:00Time For Another Weird and Wacky Wednesday<div style="text-align: center;">And where else to find weird and wacky?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Why, Pinterst, of course.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Buckle your seat belts, it's going to be a crazy ride. </div><div style="text-align: center;">hahahaha</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EnECF96bhR8/WIj5rSCAY5I/AAAAAAAAL3k/CZBrPbkWYNQDlo5-GZ5XBpH64MLN3MD6ACLcB/s1600/e5cb650e801e26e0dd975f9ec4c7690d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EnECF96bhR8/WIj5rSCAY5I/AAAAAAAAL3k/CZBrPbkWYNQDlo5-GZ5XBpH64MLN3MD6ACLcB/s400/e5cb650e801e26e0dd975f9ec4c7690d.jpg" width="290" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">ok, I know I talked about getting a hot pink wig, but this? And I was glad I did.</div><div style="text-align: center;">And if you enjoy historical based fiction, you will enjoy this book too.<br /><br />Parker House is an up and coming lawyer who shares a "gift" with his grandfather, Franz Haus, who was an officer in the German army during WWII. The gift is the ability to see snatches of future situations. <br /><br />Franz runs away from the war, changes his name, and ends up in North Carolina. The years go by, and one day, Franz's history runs smack dab back into his life, and Parker's life. The ending was very good, and tied up the loose ends wonderfully.<br /><br />If you enjoy history and suspense, and even romance, you'll enjoy this book.<br /><br /><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b><br /><b><i>Debbi</i></b><br /><b><i><br /></i></b><span style="font-size: x-small;">*I received a free copy of this ebook from Book Look Bloggers for my honest review.*</span></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-4116135588903863432017-01-16T21:59:00.000-05:002017-01-16T21:59:59.857-05:00My Cancer Journey<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QmYKlQr8apw/WH15Q1Bn7kI/AAAAAAAAL2o/bw1DmUia46w8zSLGsiKlbjC2TQFzhjLHgCLcB/s1600/15894987_10207724076811882_7722681861441198417_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QmYKlQr8apw/WH15Q1Bn7kI/AAAAAAAAL2o/bw1DmUia46w8zSLGsiKlbjC2TQFzhjLHgCLcB/s400/15894987_10207724076811882_7722681861441198417_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Yep.</div><div style="text-align: center;">This is my life now.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Which is why my posts have been sooooo spread out lately.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Today I have stage 2A</div><div style="text-align: center;">adenocarcinoma. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Otherwise known as lung cancer.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">You can read the beginnings of my health issues<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7050474983711645771#editor/target=post;postID=767776386187266226;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=6;src=postname" target="_blank"> here</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">and<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7050474983711645771#editor/target=post;postID=4938130011517912730;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=3;src=postname" target="_blank"> here</a>.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And here is where I am today...</div><div style="text-align: center;">doctor appointment after doctor appointment after doctor appointment. Time for another Yankee Burrow Creations book review.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Today I just finished Rachelle Dekker's "The Calling". It's the second book in her Seer Novel series.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I read the first book "The Choosing" last May for Tyndale House, <a href="http://www.yankeeburrowcreations.com/2015/05/ybc-book-review-choosing-by-rachelle.html" target="_blank">(you can read that review here)</a>, and enjoyed it so much, that I actually purchased<a href="https://www.tyndale.com/search?q=the+calling&f=" target="_blank"> "The Calling"</a>. Money well spent!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ioculsoLZXc/WGxJgLL2mdI/AAAAAAAAL0A/qkMm8WaPWLUkzyd-5pXo1-6n5nYuhCl5gCLcB/s400/978-1-4964-0226-4.jpg" width="263" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a quick recap...in "The Choosing" Carrington had lost her place in the new society that had been set up by The Authority, and lived the hard life of a lint. A society worker. She met a security guard named Remko, but according the The Authority, they were not allowed to be together. Then she was chosen to be the wife of an Authority leader. The man was a serial killer, and crazy. </div><div style="text-align: center;">After twists and turns, Remko managed to rescue Carrington, and they slipped out of the city and ran away to join The Seers. A group of people who were following the teachings of Aaron.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Teachings of peace, love, and freedom.</div><div style="text-align: center;">(Sound familiar?)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">"The Calling" opens up with Remko and Carrington married, and the parents of an infant. Remko is the defacto leader of a small band of seers, and he leads missions into the city to rescue others that are answering the call of The Father. The story line has great twists and turns, enough tension to keep you on the edge of your seat, and enough emotions to make you feel connected to the characters. And the end of the book is a great cliff hanger, and makes me glad that I had already ordered book 3 from Tyndale House for review.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YYxKCKXxgHE/WGxUqqeQ_BI/AAAAAAAAL0Q/0GVQK7eAQYQ1Nmo7HuPEfYShvaadAcqLgCLcB/s1600/Dekker_Rachelle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YYxKCKXxgHE/WGxUqqeQ_BI/AAAAAAAAL0Q/0GVQK7eAQYQ1Nmo7HuPEfYShvaadAcqLgCLcB/s320/Dekker_Rachelle.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The quality of this story in not surprising, considering that Rachelle is the daughter of famed author Ted Dekker. But don't be fooled, while there are similarities in genre, Rachelle is an author with her own style. Complicated yet simple. Exciting yet soft. And easy to read, because the story lines just flow. You get pulled in, feel a connection with the characters, and forget all about the rest of the world. If you haven't checked out Rachelle's talent, get going!</div><div style="text-align: center;">You can meet up with her on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/rachelledekkerauthor?fref=ts" target="_blank">FaceBook</a>, <a href="https://twitter.com/RachelleDekker" target="_blank">Twitter</a>, <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/rachelle_dekker/the-choosing/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/rachelledekker" target="_blank">YouTube</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rachelle_dekker/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Now I'm off to devour "The Returning".</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-49381300115179127302017-01-01T19:43:00.000-05:002017-01-01T19:43:13.713-05:00Bring It On 2017<div style="text-align: center;">2016 was not a good year, for a lot of people.</div><div style="text-align: center;">The elections turned friends into enemies.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Way too many people died, from sickness, from violence.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Society is falling apart.</div><div style="text-align: center;">People have forgotten how to be kind to each other.</div><div style="text-align: center;">To show mercy.</div><div style="text-align: center;">To forgive.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And personally my year wasn't any better.<br />I was run down most of the year. So, with no further ado, here is my review on the book </div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0198V6V9K/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1" target="_blank">"All But Normal" by Shawn Thornton.</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tauMuldRIE0/WBI_bgDcgSI/AAAAAAAALv0/3tjatfARsmIvJ04mGfQjCQ6jmvRm-PhEQCLcB/s1600/978-1-4964-1393-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tauMuldRIE0/WBI_bgDcgSI/AAAAAAAALv0/3tjatfARsmIvJ04mGfQjCQ6jmvRm-PhEQCLcB/s320/978-1-4964-1393-2.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This is a story about Shawn's childhood. A childhood overshadowed by a mother unlike most every other mother. Violent outbursts and excessive mood swings was his mother's "normal". Due to a TBI (traumatic brain injury) she received from a car accident, Beverly was never the same. Yet her fiance loved her and married her. Over the course of their long marriage, and despite the unstability of Beverly's behavior, they raised 2 boys together. And this is that story.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Shawn shares stories of his childhood, playing with his friends, and watching the violence in his home. Despite the outbursts, Shawn is able to portray his mother as not only unstable, but loving. Loving her husband, loving her kids, and most of all, loving God.</div><div style="text-align: center;">While I did enjoy the stories of his childhood, I do wish Shawn had gone into more depth of his parents love for each other, and how God worked in their lives, and through their lives, to touch others. It almost felt like after he reached high school age...nothing happened until he turned his life over to God, became a pastor, and reconciled with his father. I feel that there is so much there, left unsaid. Hopefully he'll write a second book. Until then, I'll donate this book to my local library.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here are some links where you can learn some more about Shawn Thornton.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> Promo/Main Site: <a href="http://www.pastorshawn.com/" target="_blank">http://www.pastorshawn.com/ </a> <br />· “All Things New” Blog: <a href="http://www.pastorshawn.com/blog/" target="_blank">http://www.pastorshawn.com/blog/ </a> <br />· Radio:<a href="http://www.pastorshawn.com/radio/" target="_blank"> http://www.pastorshawn.com/radio/</a><br />· Facebook:<a href="http://www.facebook.com/allthingsnewmedia/" target="_blank"> http://www.facebook.com/allthingsnewmedia/ </a> <br />· Twitter: <a href="http://www.twitter.com/shawnthornton/" target="_blank">http://www.twitter.com/shawnthornton/ </a> <br />· Instagram: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pastorshawn/" target="_blank">https://www.instagram.com/pastorshawn/</a><br />· Videos of Pastor Shawn Preaching:<a href="http://www.pastorshawn.com/video/" target="_blank"> http://www.pastorshawn.com/video/</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Until next time.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">*Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review.*</span></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><b style="font-size: 11pt;"></b></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><u></u></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><u></u></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><u></u></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><u></u></div><div class="m_-1620421562621265121MsoListParagraph" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt 2in;"><u></u></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-7677763861872662262016-10-25T16:20:00.003-04:002016-10-25T16:21:45.326-04:00Sorry For The Interruption<div style="text-align: center;">Wow! I can't believe it's been over 3 months since my last post.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Well, actually I can believe it...you see, I've been working a "real" job, with crazy hours</div><div style="text-align: center;">So I was either working or sleeping. And sick.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Apparently I've been sick for close to a year, but I didn't know it, and it all came crashing down around my head on September 24.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I thought it was just a really bad case of heartburn, but continually got worse, and then when my heart started beating crazy, hubby took me to the ER.</div><div style="text-align: center;">After getting my heart regulated, I was admitted for observation, and a few blood tests.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then an x-ray.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then a CT scan.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then an echo-cardiogram.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I was there for 5 days, and felt like Alice that fell down the hole.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Every day brought me a new doctor, and another diagnosis.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I have A-fib (which brought me to the hospital)</div><div style="text-align: center;">brought on by Type 2 Diabetes.</div><div style="text-align: center;">And while checking the x-ray a spot on my lung was discovered (hence the CT scan).</div><div style="text-align: center;">So they did a CT scan directed biopsy.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Which brings me to stage 1 lung cancer.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Yep, this non-smoker got lung cancer. Go figure.</div><div style="text-align: center;">So now, I work when I can, while waiting for the results of the latest PET scan and for a surgery date.</div><div style="text-align: center;">All while learning all I can about diabetes.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The plus side to all of this?</div><div style="text-align: center;">1). God provided the right doctors at the right time to discover the lung cancer that otherwise would have become too severe before I noticed any symptoms.</div><div style="text-align: center;">2). So I gave it whirl.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">First my review of the book.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8FZyP4bc6uQ/V4kYtbcjXvI/AAAAAAAALqQ/GL-QXShkwocrOyuwaZbYwWmJEyuqGX-jQCLcB/s1600/_225_350_Book.1893.cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8FZyP4bc6uQ/V4kYtbcjXvI/AAAAAAAALqQ/GL-QXShkwocrOyuwaZbYwWmJEyuqGX-jQCLcB/s320/_225_350_Book.1893.cover.jpg" width="209" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Incarcerated for a crime she didn't commit, the story line starts with Allie Marshall's release from prison, and moves along at a smooth even pace on how she manages to get her life back. Allie was a young single mother with a very bright future, but then a scandal came to her small town, and she was not afraid to confront it. But that ended up with a murder, her arrest, a trial, and 10 years of her life gone. Now she's back home, trying to reconnect with her teenage daughter and clear her name. There is not much left for me to tell you without giving out the ending, but it is an interesting story with lots of twists and clues to help you along.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Laura McNeill gives you lots of clues during the story, so the truth at the end is not really much of a surprise, but she does a good job keeping it interesting and juggling all the different plot lines for the different characters. I found the book easy to put down when real life needed my attention, and it was easy enough to pick up the story and get involved again, even after a few days.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> I give the story a 4 thumbs ups.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-99oczAm0Y8U/V4kdAOLM8DI/AAAAAAAALqc/uAh0GS5ep-4Zc5sbemOm_Fgj-eLiKXYRgCLcB/s1600/s-l300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-99oczAm0Y8U/V4kdAOLM8DI/AAAAAAAALqc/uAh0GS5ep-4Zc5sbemOm_Fgj-eLiKXYRgCLcB/s1600/s-l300.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is some information about the author, Laura McNeill.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Laura was a tv news anchor for CBS News affiliates in NY and Alabama, and is right now completing a PhD in Instructional Leadership at the University of Alabama. She is also a mother, and enjoys running, yoga, and being a beach bum. She has a second book coming out titled "Center of Gravity" and in the preview it looks very good.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now for my feelings of e-books. While my tablet was set to adjust the lighting on the pages to make it easier on the eyes, and I did find it easy to carry the tablet around instead of a book, I still prefer "real" books. There is just something about the feel of real paper in your hands, finding a good bookmark, and not having to worry about losing my $200 tablet since I like to read during my work travel time. :-)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Until next time,</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">*I received a copy of this book from <a href="http://www.booklookbloggers.com/" target="_blank">BookLookBloggers</a> for my impartial review.*</span></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-22498062681440974602016-07-11T18:21:00.000-04:002016-07-11T18:21:40.620-04:00YBC Artist Feature - Dori Danner from Designs by DKD<div style="text-align: center;">It's time for another artist feature from <a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/" target="_blank">Scott's Marketplace</a>....</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/store/designsbydkd/" target="_blank">Dori Danner from Designs by DKD</a>.</div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120748/blue-baby-blanket/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1PWkKNC6aA/V4QW5OdGjWI/AAAAAAAALpc/-KT0UgQJY1YLzp0pTVj5kAEF1uUp3LQlwCLcB/s320/blue%2Bbaby%2Bblanket.jpg" width="239" /></a></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120748/blue-baby-blanket/" target="_blank">blue baby blanket</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"> <i><b>What is the story behind your shop name? </b></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"> I didn't want to limit myself to just one kind of "craft". </div><div style="text-align: center;">Designs can be anything and DKD are my initials.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Where, when, how did you learn your craft?</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">My mother taught me how to knit and crochet as a child. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>What has been your biggest obstacle, or challenge, to finding and achieving success?</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">My biggest challenge is finding stores to sell my products. You may remember her from years ago, she was my partner when we started this business, and this blog. When I saw this book available through <a href="http://www.bloggingforbooks.com/" target="_blank">Blogging for Books</a>, I thought it would be great to have Amanda review it, since she does has a masters degree in Graphic Design and has a dream to own her very own printing press and graphic business. From the basics of relief printing all the way to digital transfers, each process is meticulously outlined with historical reference and step by step instructions on how to properly achieve the specific style outlined in each chapter. Each style of printmaking outlined showcases one or two artists renowned for their respective process, giving credit to the innovators of the printing style period. From student to professional, this book is accommodating informationally no matter the expertise level. It reads much like a history book, but not so much that the content is unbearable to read through. With that said, I advise the reader start on a chapter that interests them the most. The book is written with a solid template for each chapter to where jumping around is easy, slightly predictable, and not confusing. I would categorize this piece as a solid reference book worthy of an artist’s bookshelf.</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now for some background on the author. </div><div style="text-align: center;">"<span style="background-color: #f6f6f6; color: #333333; font-family: Fort-Book, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 22.8571px;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">SYLVIE COVEY was born in France and studied graphic arts at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. How to be an effective witness. How to bloom where you're planted. And how to find your personal calling from God. We all have one, but many of us don't know what it is or how to look for it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">More not only describes what a calling is, but helps us to ask ourselves questions to find our own.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The main questions of our lives is BE - DO - GO, and these represent the core dimensions of our personal callings. Not everyone is called to the mission field, or to the pulpit, but we are all called to be His Hands and Feet wherever we are in life.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Personally, I found this book a bit dry, but then again I am not questioning my calling anymore. This has been my RP (role playing) name since I was a teenager & over time it ended up being my stage name as well as my artist & cosplayer alias.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i><u>Where, when, how did you learn your craft?</u></i></b></div><div> I have been sewing & drawing as long as I can remember. My grandmother & mother like to do home crafts and sew a lot, and my grandfather and several uncles were artists by hobby. We would attend rendezvous and ren fairs making our own costumes and weapons. So I naturally picked it up and started learning how to sew & draw. I did it mostly for fun and making things for family, but it wasn't until after I got a job at a haunted house in the mid 90's that I started using my talents for items other than personal gifts. Through my dad & one of his friends I became a scene designer, costume maker & FX artist at a local haunted house. I worked there until early 2000's when I was introduced to the cosplay scene by some online friends. I made my first cosplay costume in 2008 and went to my first convention. I fell in love with the endless creative possibilities I had seen there and changed the basic mood of my current works from horror themed (which i was getting quickly burned out on the unchanging monotony) to seemingly unlimited potential of anime/manga/game themed ideas. I taught myself how to make anything I needed to use, and thus began an amazing creative journey that has yet to become boring. </div><div><br /></div><div><div><b><i><u>What has been your biggest obstacle, or challenge, to finding and achieving success?</u></i></b></div><div> The biggest obstacle that I see in my current choice of hobby, if you will, is that there are many, many people who also have the very same ideas and talents. There are lots of people who cosplay & who also commission for them, and there are also lots of artists out there who draw with the same or similar styles as I do. Many of those other artists have a lot more time and practice in their portfolio then I do, and many of them also have more resources to do more than I can afford to do being a stay at home mom and only in the hobby for about 6 years. Despite the competition being thick, I still am not pushed away from what I fell in love with. I do have a leg up on some things as I do make a few things that are less common in my circles, like my hoodies. Even to this day I do not see many like the ones I make and thus sell more of those than anything else through my online shops. </div></div><div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120701/pastelcharcoal-artwork-commission/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ErlHevkZIRc/V1WSg_PwwJI/AAAAAAAALjQ/2f1qT71b_NspxYf4lf2ZSKdCLo6zA6hlgCLcB/s400/il_fullxfull.566158782_gur3.jpg" width="265" /></a></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120701/pastelcharcoal-artwork-commission/" target="_blank">pastel/charcoal artwork</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div><div><b><i><u>Tell us a little about your family life...married, kids, pets, etc.</u></i></b></div><div>I am a divorced mother of 3 beautiful daughters, 20, 13 & 11. I have been dating my current boyfriend for almost 5 years now and we hope to be married later this year. I have a small zoo around my house. To be honest, we love animals, especially those that needed love. All of our pets are rescue animals of one form or another. We have several cats, 2 of which were rescued kittens from a local store parking lot, the rest were born from a local stray and taken in and hand raised as our own from tiny babies when their mother abandoned them. Our dogs were unwanted as puppies as well, one was dumped on a country road and found on my mother's doorstep the other was being given away at a local store. My daughter also has a rescue hamster that was given to her by a family friend when his grandson no longer wanted it and it needed a home. Our house at times can be a little crazy and hectic but I work hard at doing my best to keep in in working order. I use what free time I have for my hobbies, which usually end up being after he has left for work for the night and the kids go to bed, or the occasional time I get the chores done and have some free time during the day when the kids are at school.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i><u>Tell us a little bit about where you live....city, farm, suburb.</u></i></b></div><div> I live in a very small rural town in mid Missouri. The closest town in any direction is 25-30 minutes away. The closest city is an hour or so away. I live in farm area but I myself do not have a farm but are surrounded by fields & woods. I love the peace and quiet i get out here but it does at times make getting what I need a pain. I only make so many trips to town a month, especially with the price of gas these days. So I make my shopping trips count and run a lot of errands at once. It does help that my boyfriend does work over nights at one of the stores in town and can pick up things on his way home in the morning saving those tiny trips to town for little things like milk.</div></div><div><br /></div><div><div><b><i><u>Share a story / memory of your childhood.</u></i></b></div><div> One of the memories I love about my childhood was getting together with my uncles and cousins and going to rendezvous and ren fairs . We also LARPed (live action role play) a lot as a family and they are where I got a majority of my inner nerd from. To this day we all still get together and LARP occasionally and have been passing our traditions and our costume & weapon making skills onto our children.</div><div><br /></div></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120689/tree-of-life-pendant/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ayS90P3EJbo/V1WYgjVe6-I/AAAAAAAALjg/ShQm6cFj0iQ28whvho-G-yG5eSZ6E662QCLcB/s400/il_fullxfull.749896521_j8be.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120689/tree-of-life-pendant/" target="_blank">tree of life pendant</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div><div><b><i><u>Tell us something about you that no-one else might know.</u></i></b></div><div> There really isn't much that most people who know me don't know. The only thing I really keep to myself was the parts of my life that were not so great. There was a time where I was in a very bad place all around, when I was married to my oldest child's father and when I was with the man I dated for 13 years & almost married (the father of my 2 youngest children) . Both relationships were controlling and abusive both mentally and emotionally. Lucky for me I got out before they got to the physical abuse aspect. That part of my life lasted for about 15 years or so and during that time I used my art as a mental escape for myself and as an aid in helping me regain my sense of self after I got the courage to take back my life and get my children away from that kind of life and have started a life with a man who loves and respects me and my children. I do not talk about my past much and most people that were not around me then unless they ask never really know or knew what I had been through and how far I had came in the time since.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i><u>If you could be a fictional character, who would you be, and why?</u></i></b></div><div> I never really thought about this much. Unless you count my own fictional character Shelandry and her twin sister Amber that I have created for all of my role playing over the years, if that is the case I would love to be her, well them. Shelandry is like me in many ways, kind and caring but has the ability to help people and heal the injured as she is a healing priestess and her best friend is a dragon and I love dragons. Amber because she is strong and independent and protects her sister with everything she has.</div></div><div><br /></div><div><div><b><i><u>Share your social media links and where we can find you on the internet.</u></i></b></div><div> I do not have some of the traditional social media that many use like twitter or Instagram, those are for my personal use when I even use them, but I do have a couple websites that I use for my studio.</div><div><br /></div><div>Facebook: <a href="http://facebook.com/shelandrystudio" target="_blank">facebook.com/shelandrystudio</a></div><div><br /></div><div>DeviantArt: <a href="http://shelandrystudio.deviantart.com/" target="_blank">shelandrystudio.deviantart.com</a></div><div><br /></div><div>Scotts Marketplace shop: <a href="http://scottsmarketplace.com/store/shelandrystudio/" target="_blank">scottsmarketplace.com/store/shelandrystudio/</a></div><div><br /></div><div>Etsy: <a href="http://etsy.com/shop/ShelandryStudio" target="_blank">etsy.com/shop/ShelandryStudio</a></div></div><div><br /></div><div><div><b><i><u>Pick a favorite item from your shop, and why is it your favorite.</u></i></b></div><div>My favorite item in my shop has to be my custom character hoodies. There are so many different deign styles that I had to make a couple different listing to separate them into categories. I went from the usual requests of Pokemon characters to having to grow into making a separate listing for My Little Pony designs and even BJDs (ball jointed dolls). They are my favorite because I never know what my next order will be, and designing the hoodies to the wanted characters are such fun. I love the fact that I can use both my art and my sewing at one time and make something that makes people happy, especially little kids, who seem to really really love their hoods designed after their favorite characters.</div><div><br /></div></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120666/child-size-custom-character-themed-hoodies-made-to/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EkmM5H_ef0k/V1WaT1T83ZI/AAAAAAAALjs/eHOcz6ywn50jvodYyueh-2EO5ew_KMo7wCLcB/s400/hoodies%2Bmodels.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/buy/120666/child-size-custom-character-themed-hoodies-made-to/" target="_blank">child size custom hoodie</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div><div><b><i><u>What advise would you give a new artist just starting out?</u></i></b></div><div>My advice to any new artist, including my children who also have shown interest in becoming artists in one form or another. never give up. Practice a lot and never ever let anyone tell you that it is not worth the time because there are so many people also doing it. Doing something you love will never be a waste of time. Look for something that you really love and always put a bit of yourself into what you do. People can see the difference between something being made out of habit or necessity and something made out of love and passion for what they do. A true artist always puts a bit of their soul into their art, no matter the medium it takes shape in. Their art is who they are inside and how they view what makes them happy.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i><u>Pick a favorite item from another shop, and why is it your favorite.</u></i></b></div><div> After looking through all the shops in the categories that I like to buy from (which as of right now there were not very many) I can say so far my favorite shop was <a href="https://www.scottsmarketplace.com/store/amigurumiman/" target="_blank">Amigurumi Man.</a> Their items are in the theme that I collect and also in an art form that I do not have access to around where I live. They crochet a lot of gaming themed items, most crochet items around where I am are hats, country crafts and the like and a lot of the conventions that I attend have the themes that I collect but in forms that I find everywhere, like bead work, artwork or plastic crafts.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><i><u>Do you have any special coupon codes for our readers?</u></i></b></div><div> I do have a special only for your readers, it is called Blog reader special. Not just a shower, but intermittent buckets of water pouring from the sky. Now, while I have fun with the kids in the car, I am actually a very careful driver. Especially in bad weather. There is a sharp, mostly blind curve on the road near our home. I <i>almost</i> always slow down for this curve. Mainly because people think that there is no speed limit on country roads. (But yes, there is). Yesterday, as I was nearing the bottom of the curve, I got an irritable itch on my right shin. The kind that makes you try to rip your skin off. The kind you can't ignore. So I took my foot off the accelerator, but did not stop, and bent to scratch the itch, which pulled me a little to the right. Just then, a car came <i>FLYING AROUND THE CURVE</i> crossing the double yellow line. It swerved back to it's own lane, and continued on it's way.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">But I stopped. Stopped to thank God once again for watching over me. You see, if I had not slowed down and pulled right, I would have been in the middle of that curve, and that speeding car would have hit me head on. Shabby chic? Rustic? Traditional?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Would you like me to tell you what looks great with every style?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Handmade.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Adding handmade decor to any style brings a uniqueness to your home that you just can't find in any big box stores or factory made furnishings. A little touch here, and little touch there, and</div><div style="text-align: center;">VIOLA'</div><div style="text-align: center;">your home is uniquely yours. Here's a few great ideas to get you started.</div><div style="text-align: center;">(If any links are available, you will find them under the pictures.)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K-xqh5QuJ54/V0MjWvYZr2I/AAAAAAAALgo/uisjW_J5y348FYyc_IpuP5zOauLXP8oxACLcB/s1600/086e4227bddf5d41ecb13a81affc99e3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K-xqh5QuJ54/V0MjWvYZr2I/AAAAAAAALgo/uisjW_J5y348FYyc_IpuP5zOauLXP8oxACLcB/s1600/086e4227bddf5d41ecb13a81affc99e3.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Isn't this a great way to create mood lighting in a room? Stop at any flea market and scoop up some old ladles. Bend them and mount them on a piece of wood, add a candle...and perfect. Use wonderfully white chippy wood for a shabby chic look, or use rough wood for rustic, and smooth painted wood for a more traditional look. Actually she started as my sons friend, but some people just click. And Candy was someone I just clicked with. Many years ago, Chuck and I attended her first wedding. She was young, and looking forward to a wonderful life. Then she gave birth to their daughter Madison. A beautiful baby with a smile a mile wide. </div><br /><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YIrZ7Bwb4JU/VyvoQqKExbI/AAAAAAAALes/g_gOXbECEDYu2HagMA9yPcDjgMu71wpMwCLcB/s1600/10603415_10202401986880934_1583427076495360526_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YIrZ7Bwb4JU/VyvoQqKExbI/AAAAAAAALes/g_gOXbECEDYu2HagMA9yPcDjgMu71wpMwCLcB/s320/10603415_10202401986880934_1583427076495360526_n.jpg" width="320" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Then came the hard time...Candy's ex-husband was physically and emotionally abusive and a drug addict. She divorced him, and moved on with her life as a single mother of a special girl. Madison is a very special girl, diagnosed autistic and with ADHD, but a ray of sunshine. Just a few years ago, Candy met an amazing man named Kenny, who not only makes Candy happy, but accepted and loved Madison as his own. (Which is great since bio-dad is not in the picture). Kenny and Candy got married, and soon had another daughter, Scarlet.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G54Ab5DQqlU/Vyvq2hOSu5I/AAAAAAAALfA/W2VGopHrkfMFvrV8yhtQC5pSnd7u3En_QCLcB/s1600/12512675_10205759895626554_5114617352064158351_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G54Ab5DQqlU/Vyvq2hOSu5I/AAAAAAAALfA/W2VGopHrkfMFvrV8yhtQC5pSnd7u3En_QCLcB/s320/12512675_10205759895626554_5114617352064158351_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Madison is a great big sister and dotes on her baby sister, and the family is complete. Well, almost. You see, Madison is desperate to share the family name. It's the love that makes a family, but to a little girl, a name is everything. And she wants to be a King. <span style="text-align: center;">Now for your part in this family fairy tale. For Madison to become a King, Kenny and Candy need to pay a lawyer to process all the paper work. And lawyers cost money. So if you have some extra money to give, and the desire to help this family, please visit their <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/22d75kk" target="_blank">gofundme</a> page and make a donation. Any size is appreciated. And while you're there, you can learn some more about this loving family.</span><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Until next time, hug and love your family.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div>Debbi Huntingtonhttps://plus.google.com/112200563673284208985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050474983711645771.post-49208853769774125352016-05-03T16:14:00.000-04:002016-05-03T16:14:26.258-04:00YBC Book Review - "After The Boxes Are Unpacked" by Susan Miller<div style="text-align: center;">Have you ever moved? (No, not New York City....there is a whole state that is much nicer than that city. lol)</div><div style="text-align: center;">I thought that this book would have more actual packing and moving tips, but it didn't.</div><div style="text-align: center;">It was about letting go of your past lives (and homes and communities) and learning how to fit in with the people in your new communities. And how to learn to lean on God in the process.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Back in the early 80's, my ex-husband moved us from New York to Texas...and I was miserable.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I was a new Christian, just discovered I was pregnant with our 3rd child, and in an unhappy marriage.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I could have used this book. It probably would not have saved my marriage, but it might have helped me to enjoy the communities where we lived.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This book is full of encouragement, and scriptures, and comment sense suggestions on how to remember your "old" life without too many tears, and how to start your "new" life in new surroundings and make new friends. Even though I am moving back to my hometown, I will still be able to use the suggestions in this book, and we look for a new church, a home in a new area of town, and to help my kids find new friends.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">After her last move across the country, Susan was led to start a support group in her church for newcomers. What about you? Do you enjoy the sense of fulfillment when an idea in your head becomes something tangible? Something you can touch, see, hear, and even eat?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Creativity uses parts of your brain that do not get utilized in everyday activity, and learning new techniques expands your mind even more. That's why it is depressing to see that the arts (and play) are slowing but surely being removed from the public schools. But they say, "it's never to late to learn". Or, "teach an old dog new tricks". </div><div style="text-align: center;">So with that in mind, I got Saori Yamazaki's book, "<a href="http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/249652/little-felted-dogs-by-saori-yamazaki/" target="_blank">Little Felted Dogs</a>".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/249652/little-felted-dogs-by-saori-yamazaki/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SVR_jiaE3M8/VxeRUbR_5dI/AAAAAAAALao/4wNoiSTQFXUDqpwugjOvO7FLEroeuS3cwCLcB/s400/9780553447965.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Felting is an old technique that is making a comeback, and when I saw the word easy on the front cover, I figured, what could possibly go wrong?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Hmmmmm, a loaded question for a not so graceful gazelle like me. hahaha</div><div style="text-align: center;">Looking through the book there are pages after pages of really simple instructions (with pictures) for many breeds of dog. So I set out to learn something new.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZRLNwULZst0/VxeTK13QRgI/AAAAAAAALa8/YMoJCt_W1wQaebhk8ZO7SQw2JdWzW2OEgCLcB/s1600/felteddogs.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZRLNwULZst0/VxeTK13QRgI/AAAAAAAALa8/YMoJCt_W1wQaebhk8ZO7SQw2JdWzW2OEgCLcB/s400/felteddogs.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I made an *ahem* quick stop at<a href="http://www.hobbylobby.com/" target="_blank"> Hobby Lobby</a> for supplies, and was going to take pictures of my progress making my first felted dog.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Wellllll, let me clue you in, those felting needles ARE SHARP! And the finger covers, while they are thick and strong, and NOT needle proof. Plus they made it hard to manipulate the wool.</div><div style="text-align: center;">After much grumbling and blood letting, I decided to not share any pictures of what was definitely NOT a dog that I had created. hahaha</div><div style="text-align: center;">But, I will never, never, never give up. I will continue to try and learn this technique (without all the crying and blood) and when I have mastered it (meaning I can create something besides a lopsided ball) I will come back and share it with you.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now for my review of this book...I like it. I give it a bloody thumbs up. And I am keeping it in my book case in the studio. Saori created this book to be as easy as possible. The directions are clear, and the pictures are wonderful. All the dog breeds look real, and I do highly recommend this book for artists looking to expand their crafts.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a little bit about the author, Saori Yamazaki. She is the author of several felting books written in Japanese and English, and she lives in Japan with her 3 dogs. This will be my next book of hers that I want, because I love <a href="http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/194709/felting-for-baby-by-saori-yamazaki/9781590307168/" target="_blank">baby stuff</a>, and there are no legs to try and attach. :~D</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/194709/felting-for-baby-by-saori-yamazaki/9781590307168/" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J0AVwhWsKps/VxeWLysgQ8I/AAAAAAAALbI/rzjkgwSb9sUfuFK6azcnLUcBqtHx3X-DwCLcB/s400/9781590307168.jpg" width="307" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now it's your turn, click on a link, and check out this book for yourself.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Expand your mind.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Challenge your creativity.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Learn something new today.</div><div style="text-align: center;">(then share your new talent in the comment section for the rest of us to enjoy)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Be blessed,</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Debbi</i></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div style="text-align: left;">"I received this book from<a href="http://www.bloggingforbooks.com/" target="_blank"> Blogging for Books</a> for this review.
