nana's kitchen

I just listed this scarf in our Etsy shop.  I call it "Nana's kitchen".
I call it that because back in the 70's, when everyone else was decorating in seafoam green, my wonderful artist mom painted our kitchen walls bright pumpkin orange and the cupboards and trim were a warm chocolate brown.  I didn't like it much back then, mostly because I was worried that my friends might realize that my home was not "normal".  I have since learned that being normal is boring.  Plus, my friends loved coming to my house for that very reason.  It's funny how the things that upset us as kids become sweet memories when we are older.
