busy---busy---busy

I can't believe it's been 5 days since I last posted...but it has been crazy here lately.  Or maybe I should say, crazier than usual, lol.  So here's a quick photo recap of my week.
On Saturday I found this cool colorful little guy (or gal) hanging out on my laundry.  I used him/her as a model for some quick sketches and will include him in a line of butterfly/moth greeting cards.  Anyone know what kind of moth this is?
This is what I woke up to on Sunday morning.  My PeeWee loves to cuddle under the blankets, but he forgot to pull the blanket all the way down. heehee
Monday we took Hannah shopping for some supplies she'll need for horse camp next week.  She may fall off her horse, but she'll look good doing it. :0)
Yesterday we came across a new (and very nice) resale shop in town.  We found this wonderful desk for only $5.00, perfect for Hannah's room, and a "special" place for her to do her homeschooling.  She was so excited she spent all the rest of yesterday cleaning and rearranging her room.  And if you had seen her room before, you would understand why it took her all afternoon. hahahaha.
And here's an FYI, I'll be adding a homeschool tab here where both Hannah and I will be sharing the joys (and agony) of homeschooling.  Please feel free to comment on her writing assignments.
And lastly, I've been trying to get Quintins blanket completed.  Today called for a trip to Michaels for more yarn, but I should have it done before Q arrives, (hah - I hope).
So, what has your week been like?
Be blessed,
Debbi

My big find of the day

Chuck and I took the kids out driving today, looking for yard sales.  We only found a few, but we stopped at some thrift shops, and look what the lady GAVE me, for free!

A box of vintage bottle caps.  A BIG box of bottle caps, and when the lady said free, I just got all giddy.  Chuck thought I was nuts, but then, that's why he married me. hahaha
Now, what to do with all these caps???
Look what I found on Pinterest and Google search!
How about a mosaic?  How cool is this Sammy Davis Jr?
Maybe I should re-do my bathroom floor?
I love this wind chime.
And since I've been on a handbag kick lately, how about this purse?
What do you think? Do you have any ideas? I would love to hear them.
Be blessed,
Debbi

my yard sale finds

Two weekends ago we helped our church do a good spring cleaning, and I cleaned up!  My daughter Hannah noticed some baskets in the back of the truck getting ready for a dump run, and before you know, she was dumpster diving...garbage picking is a talent she picked up from her dad. hahaha.  But I won't complain, because I benefited from her enthusiasm.  I got wonderful wicker baskets, beautiful glass ornament hangers, burlap, and other odds and ends, all for free.
Then on the way home, driving fast (Chuck was driving) something caught my eye...and I yelled out
"MILLENNIUM FALCON! STOP!"
I'm sure Chuck thought I had lost my mind...but as a collector of vintage toys, and a mother to 2 boys growing up in the 80's and 90's, how could I pass this up?  The lights and sounds all work...and I got it for only $2.00  What a deal.  Of course, this got our blood going so we stopped at another sale down the road.
That was where I found all this wonderful pine wood.  For $1.00!
Needless to say, I was one happy camper.
:0)
What was the best deal you ever found in a yard sale?
Be blessed,
Debbi
