what my baby got for his birthday

My wonderful husband turned 71 last Friday, and I racked my brains trying to come up with a gift.  A man needs only so many ties and tools...so I got him a memory instead.
A flight on this plane.  Let me explain, whenever one of these small planes flies over our house, Chuck remarks about how neat it would be to fly in one...so he did.  The pilot said there was room for the kids too, so they were blessed also.
Look at that smile!
The pilot had him sit behind the controls, it was a training plane.  Now, would you trust this face?
Here they are at take off.
Here they are getting back.  Apparently there is not a lot of leg room in these small planes.
And while I was there waiting, the staff directed me to look where a large plane was coming in.  The pilot was retiring, and when that happens, they taxi the plane thru water shot from the fire trucks.
It was really pretty cool.  Then we had dinner at Red Lobster, where the kids gave him these...
Happy Birthday to the love of my life!

What a great gift! Experiences are wonderful presents. We recently got our son Bulls basketball tickets for his 20th birthday. Quite a splurge, but he'll always remember it.
