I visited a cool shop today at The Craft Star, Retro Sideshow. It's chock full of vintage, upcycled vintage, jewelry, and original artwork, and is owned and operated by Stephanie Carver.
In the vintage section, there is this so cute brass duck with an umbrella. It stands only 4" tall, and would be a cute little addition to your home decor. I love little items that I can put in corners and stuff, and add a surprise accent to your bookshelf.
Here's a personal tidbit on Stephanie, she is the mother of 2 beautiful girls, and is very talented. And another artist with ADD. Actually, I'm beginning to think that most artists are ADD, lol.
Here's a great idea for a vintage frame that needs new life. An upcycled picture frame earring holder. I like the metal sheeting she used, I've seen these with just wire or mesh fabric, but I bet the metal would hold up better. The metal is not magnetic though.
Tidbit #2, Stephanie is a native Texan who now resides in Arizona. I have lived in Texas, but never set foot in Arizona. I bet it's beautiful there.
Here is an example of Stephanies artwork. It's an original mixed media painting of a whale. I love how she took an old map and used that for the whale, and the eyes are made of beads. If you click on the link, you can look at this close up just by mousing over the photo. (One of the many extras provided by The Craft Star).
