My Friday Feature - DLC Glass Studio

This week's artist is Denise Clenney from D.L.C. Glass Studio at The Craft Star.
I have always been amazed by art created with glass.  I think because it is a medium that is not very forgiving.  Pencil you can erase.  Oil and Acrylic you can paint over.  Yarn you can pull out.  But glass?  It is what it is.  I know, I've tried it before. LOL

My Amanda would soooo love this Natures Chaos Bowl.  She's into the neutral colors but that turquoise gives this bowl a nice pop of color.  And I love how the speckled pieces look like they are 3D.  Very cool. :0)

As a jewelry designer, this fused glass blue dragon fly is AWESOME!

This fused glass spotted night light would be great for Hannah.  She tends to watch too many crime shows on Netflix, then sits up at night watching her bedroom window. lol

Now go and see for yourself the great items in Denise's shop.  And you can also find her here...

Be blessed,
Debbi

HAF artist feature - Lisianblue

Come with me, let's take a walk and do some window shopping.  Kris is an amazing artist with 2 shops on HandmadeArtists.com and I can't wait to show you what she creates...
Her first shop is Reflections...and it's full of glass, and light, and color...

Just check out this Hand Painted Ginger Jar.  Here is what Kris says about this jar..."Based on a wonderful place I lived for 11 years, this art glass piece stands on it's own. I could sit on my front steps and see the valley for miles and miles, "Sanctuary" is my somewhat stylized and minimized view. The mountains here often turn blue at dusk.
This elegantly shaped glass vase has been carefully hand painted with quality glass paints. the greens range from a transparent emerald green to a frosted kiwi green and an opaque light green. Transparent royal blue with very pale frost blue, medium frost blue and an opaque light blue. Transparent amber trees.
5 1/4 inches tall and approx 3 1/4 inches wide. A tad over 10 inches around at the widest point."

How about this Clear Glass Tetrahedron Pyramid.  It contains red and pink beads, and I can see any baby (or adult) just spending time turning it over and over and watching the changes of the beads.  This piece comes in a special handmade gift box with glittery hearts and a ribbon tie.  If you would like to have some special keepsakes inside your pyramid, just leave Kris a comment, she loves custom orders, and your satisfaction is very important to her.  Her next shop is also on HandmadeArtists.com and is called Lisianblue.   This is where you will find all her creations made with yarn and fabric, just like this...

...very cute Girls Knit Sweetheart Cap.  I also love to knit (and crochet) but creating patterns like these hearts are not easy, at least not for me. :0)  But Kris did a wonderful job.  And she used my favorite yarn, Caron Simply Soft.  "This sweet light weight cap with hearts all around will fit a variety of ages. With it's 16" circumference, it will fit very young children to teens and adults. - it stretches comfortably up to 22" . The 9" length allows the band to be cuffed to help keep those ears warm for those smaller heads."

This last item I just love...I love quilts and I love vintage, and this Romantic Vintage Inspired White Quilted Wall Hanging satisfies both for me.  "Vintage inspired white quilted wall hanging with hand embroidered art nouveau designs within hand quilted hearts make up this beautiful original wall hanging.
White on white hand embroidery work is highlighted with light greens, a bit of very pale blue and pink. The one cross stitched square has very light yellow, pink, and green.
This romantic wall hanging is made from a quilt that I made 11 years ago that was cut into different size blocks and pieced back together. Embellished with buttons and beads to cover a few very tiny stains. ( about the size of a mall pin head.) More buttons and beaded hearts were added for aesthetics.
This unique wall hanging measures 29.5" x 32" not including the white ribbon hanger which can be altered for length.
**Note: there are a couple of small stains on the back, and 2 heart shaped patches to cover 2, 1/4" holes,
Comes with white washed dowel with 1/4" ribbon hanger. "
You can also visit Kris on twitter and her blog, where you can learn even more about this talented artist.
Be blessed,
Debbi

What's new at Handmade Artists

One of the great things about HandmadeArtists.com is their home page.  There you will find a constantly updated feed of new items and shops.  Let's see what's new there today.

You can find these Stacked Purple Earrings in the shop of Quiet Robin.  Quiet Robin in a new shop with only a handful of items right now, but what pretty jewelry she creates.  Quiet Robin is located in Japan and uses vintage beads and cabs to create her lovely pieces of jewelry.  Click on the link above to visit her shop.

I've shared glass lampwork beads before, and I am always amazed at the whole glass process.  So when I saw this Lampwork Boro OOAK Rainbow Swirl Heart Necklace by GGLampworkBeads, I knew I had to share it.  DeMarie is the artist/owner of GGLampworkBeads, and created this amazing pendant. The "official" name of her shop is Glitzy Glass Studio, and her creations are glitzy.  Again, this is also a new shop with only a handful of items, but one worth watching as her shop grows.  Check her shop out by clicking on the links above.

Sunworx joined our HandmadeArtist group recently, but he has been very active; on the forum, and in his studio.  Sam creates amazing solar lamps with canning jars, and they are beautiful.  He started to fill his shop with etched glass jars, and they are beautiful.  Now he is adding handpainted jars like this Tropical Fish Pint Jar.  The light comes from a solar power led light attached to the lid.  Monika from MyEuropeanTouch purchased one, and just raves about it's beauty.  You can learn more about Sunworx on the forum blog.
So, if you love handmade, handcrafted, original, one-of-a-kind, and beautiful items at affordable prices, come on over to HandmadeArtists.com and support handmade small businesses.
Be blessed,
Debbi
