Dress Shopping With A Teen

Next Saturday is Hannah's Civil Air Patrol Banquet.
Her first ever formal dance.
And she needs a dress, and that's where the fun begins.
Hannah wants a dress like this...
and I'm like
ummmmmm. NO.
I want a dress like this...
and she's like
ummmmmm NO.

Then we will need to find shoes, and a bag, and jewelry.
My credit card is already crying.
Wish us luck.
hahahaha

Be blessed,
Debbi

Besteam feature on DeSantis Vintage

Our featured Etsy shop this week is a fairly new shop on Etsy, just 2 months old, but already it is carving a niche for itself on the Etsy vintage scene.  DeSantis Vintage is full of cute retro style dresses, mostly from the 70's or 80's (I think).  I have to share this with you, Rachel DeSantis has an addiction problem.  She'll tell you that herself.  She is addicted to vintage dresses!  She loves finding classically styled dresses, and restoring them, then sharing them with y'all.
So soft, so pretty, so not my size, boohoohoo.  But if I lose these last 20 pounds, watch out!  So if you like this dress too, you better get it now, hahaha.  The color is exquisite.  I remember my mother having a dress just like this.
Rachel live in Michican with her 2 favorite guys.  Her boyfriend Dave, and her hound dog Winston.  I googled the city she lives in, and it's a small town outside Lansing.  Maybe she's a country girl? Must be, because we country girls have the best taste clothes. hahaha I wonder where she finds all these great outfits.  Like all vintage lovers, she must visit a lot of estate and yard sales.
Maybe that's where she found this next dress I'm going to share.  It's an 80's Heart Gala Event dress.  I remember ME having a dress just like this, :)
Yes, there was a time I could fit into a dress like this.  And hopefully I will again someday.  I love the rich blue color, and that belt is great.  And what is any dress without SHOES!
These Life Stride pumps as just perfect!  Now I am a shoe hog...so I know my shoes, and these shoes are just my style.  I do not see shoes as just a fashion accessory.  In fact, I have been known to purchase a pair of shoes, then have to shop for an outfit to match, hahaha.  I'm so glad my husband loves me.  And you will love the selection of vintage fashion at DeSantis Vintage, so don't wait any longer to see for yourself.  Click on any picture or link above to be whisked away to Rachel's shop.
Rachel has also started a blog....it's very funny.  You must visit and learn how she feels about sharing her phone! hahaha  Her blog is called Don't Feed The Vintage, which gives you a glimpse into her sense of humor.  I love someone who loves to laugh, it just lightens up the whole world.
You can also follow Rachel, as DeSantis Vintage, on facebook and twitter.  Come on, be a fan :)  I know I will be.  See you there!

wordless wednesday a day late

plus, I just can't keep quiet.  So this is actually a talkative Thursday.  And I thought I would share some fun family moments.  Last month, my tootsies were tired, so I decided to have a spa night.  Not to be left out, Hannah and Owen joined me.  It was going great till they decided to make waves, lol.

Besteam feature on Retro Posh from Etsy

I'm soooo excited, today I get to talk about a fairly new BESTeam member, Retro Posh BowsnTutus. Kristi joined Etsy just this last month, and has already stocked her shop with some great items.

Like this very pretty white tutu with matching wings. Any little girl would be an angel in this outfit.

I love this quote from her shop announcement - *ATTENTION: We are actively recruiting all divas and princesses in our campaign to: "Make the World a Glittery Place".

And I love the bright orange color of this stacked hairbow. Makes me wish my hair was lush and thick, not straight and fine.

Kristi is "inspired" by 2 special girls in her life, her daughter and her niece.
To round off this blog, here is a georgeous tutu in shades of gold and black. The perfect attire to wear while attending the ballet, The Nutcracker Suite.
You can click on any of the links above to visit Retro Posh, and click here to find her blog and facebook.

Besteam feature on Turquoise Angels from Etsy

I have been so off schedule since Amanda and crew moved back home. I'm spending all my time playing with my grandson, which is fine with me!
But now it's time to get back to work. And back on track with my Besteam blogs. I've been posting them late the past few weeks, and I'm really sorry for that. But I'm not sorry that I get to talk to y'all about another mother/daughter team on Etsy, Turquiose Angels.
I showed my daughter the adorable tutu's available in this shop, and reminded her that now all I need is a new granddaughter so I can SHOP. I know that they have tutu's for dogs, and my peewee would look so cute, but my husband vetoed that idea, hahaha. Especially since peewee is a male. lol

Now my first favorite find was the SugarPlum tutu. But then I saw this way too cute pink and orange tutu with matching wings. And these hairbows can satisfy anyones craving for color. So run, not walk, to their shop and spoil the little girl in your life, even if it's yourself. They also have a great blog, so leave them a comment whenever you stop by.

besteam turquoise angels

This week I get to talk about a wonderful BESTeam shop with great items made especially for girly girls, Turquoise Angels. This shop is run by a mother/daughter team from Virginia, with a great eye for color and whimsy. While looking at their shop, I had so much trouble choosing which pieces to share with you, so you must stop at their etsy shop and check out everything. Hey, Amanda, I need a granddaughter *hint hint*.
They make great accessories for your outfits, like
this great orange sunburst mum headband.
They have headbands and hair bows of every color that you might need to complete any outfit.

They also do screen printing, look at the detail on this glitter butterfly tank top. So very pretty.

Now for the items they seem to be know for...little girl tutus. Boy, I wish I was a little kid again. The first one here is for the patriotic young girl. What a great dress to wear to that special 4th of July celebration, the Stars and Stripes Salute to America tutu. This will certainly put your little star at the head of the parade.

Next we have this oh so adorable daisy tutu dress. Perfect for the prettiest flower in the garden.

Look at this adorable tutu daisy doll
and me, for your little girl and her bff.

And let's not forget our four-legged children with this doggie diva tinker.
When you stop at their etsy shop, look at the feedback from their other clients. Such high praise, of the quality, and the customer service. You can follow them on their blog, twitter, and facebook.
