Friday Family Night

I love Fridays, not just because it's the start of the weekend, but because we get to play.
I love playing games.  My siblings and I played games a lot growing up, especially board games on holidays, or snowed in the house days.  Which in Buffalo, were quite often. lol
This is a peek into our game cabinet.  As you can tell by the taped corners, we do have a few favorites.  And old ones.  I've also replaced quite a few over the years.
Aside from the tape around the Pictionary box, a favorite game of ours was..
Dark Tower.
As a young adult, we would get together, settle the kids down with toys, popcorn, and a movie, and all us parents would sit down to this amazing game.  It was so much fun, and back then, it was the height of tech savy, just like our...
Odyssey Game System
We played Jeopardy a lot, among others.  Most of the games we had for more than one player, which made them even more fun.
Today we play...
Wii.  Back when my kids were teenagers, we had a Nintendo, which seemed to cause so many arguments, and yelling "it's MY turn"..."I don't want to turn it off and (go to bed) (do my chores) (etc.), so when it broke, I secretly rejoiced.  About 10 years later, we broke down and bought a Wii when they first came out, BECAUSE the games required more than one person, and required people to interact.  Wii Sports and Mario Cart are by far our most played games.

I've searched for new games, but have yet to find anything really new that peaked my interest.

So, what is (or was) your favorite game?

Be blessed,

my kids shopping spree

Well, our kids had an early Christmas this year...we went looking for a new gaming system.  But after talking to the salesman, and getting a headache listening to him compare memory, graphics, on-line, blah, blah, blah, we decided to just add to our Wii system, which we love.  So here is what we got for our future family nights, and for just kids play.
We got the new Cars 2 game (of course), Wii resort (great new family competition), Rio (?), and Kung Fu Panda.  We needed to get the drawing tablet for the Kung Fu Panda, and then MarioKart for racing.  I can't wait to see little Brandon try to drive a car, lol.  And then he saw this Zuzu pet.  It's the green box.  The game is still in the box, but he took off with the Zuzu pet. lol.  As we were standing in the check out line, he saw a Chuggington movie.  Great, after he gets all those Thomas trains, now he's getting into Chuggington trains, haha.  Well, now we're ready for more super hot weather when we can't go outside. Game On!

where in the (Etsy) world is Hannah

Last weeks word was Spring and it was found in the description of our vintage blue hat with rhinestones. Unfortunately, no-one found the word.  Or maybe no-one wanted the hat :(  so this week we are doing to try something different.  Instead of getting the item where the word is hidden, we will offer 25% off any item (under $100), winners choice.  Just convo me with where you find Hannah, who is this weeks secret word.  Happy hunting!  Only one winner per week please.

Monday Madness continues

Last week Bob was hiding with our Alien buddy.  Unfortunately, nobody found him, so our buddy is still up for adoption.  What a great gift to put in your little boys Easter basket.

This week the word is SPRING, because I am tired of winter.  Speaking of being tired of winter, don't forget that we are offering free shipping on all our scarfs.  Time to make room for our spring things.  And back to SPRING....for those who missed last Monday's blog, Our Home To Yours has started a weekly game.  Every Monday we will blog about a word, and then you have to find that word somewhere in our Etsy shop.  It could be in an item's picture or description, but it will be somewhere on a specific items page.  When you find that word, and order that item, you will get 35% off that item.  You will need to convo us at check out so we can refund the discount.  So start searching, and remember the word is SPRING.

Monday Madness - meet Bob

I was sitting in McDonalds the other night, looking over a small local paper called "coffee news".  In this paper (only 2 pages) there is a small picture of "Bob" hidden, and if you find Bob, you can win $25.  I figured this would be a fun idea for our blog and shop, so this is how it will work for us.  Every Monday I will post a Monday Madness clue (name) and what you can win.  The name will be hidden somewhere in an item in our shop.  Find the name/word, order the item, and win.  So this week we will start with Bob.  Somewhere in our items is the word Bob.  It could be in the description, in the photo, in the shipping, anywhere on an items page.  Find Bob, and receive a 35% discount on that item.  Once you order that item, shoot us a convo telling us where you found Bob, and we will refund your discount.  Sounds like fun?  Good.  Be sure to check back every Monday for a new word and item.  Happy hunting everyone. :~)
