Time For Summer Fashions

What is your favorite season?

 Do you like like the cooler weather and warm colors of fall,

or the cold and bright white of winter?

Or is spring your season, with new growth and pastel colors?

Personally I am a summertime girl. The warm sun, beaches, and bright happy colors.

Right now I am in the middle of our family season clothes switch out. With only so much closet space we need to store our summer/winter wardrobe in totes.

But then it's fun to see your old favorites again (unless they no longer fit, lol).

Saturday Shopping Link Up - end of summer sales

Ok, the theme for this week is....end of summer!  (boo hiss) I love summer and hate to see it end, but I must admit, I am getting tired of 90+ temps, every day, all day!!!!  Plus, the kids went back to school this week, so hubby and I are getting re-acquainted.  :~D  So here's what I found on my Etsy end of summer sale search.

I love this picture.  The shop Aprils Crafts carries wonderful and colorful crochet items, and right now is offering 10% off any market/beach bag or purse.  But the discount is only good till the end of August, so hurry on over there.

Awww, what is summer without a bike ride or two.  Chuck just hung our bikes up for the rest of the year (not like I rode at all this summer), but the thought of a bike ride is nice.  StephsShoes is a great Etsy photography shop.  Such great images....a must visit shop.

And what is a day at the beach, or anywhere in the sun, without a big floppy hat.  Anne De Pasquale Couture Millinery is a shop full of hats.  Big hats. Small hats.  Red hats.  Blue hats.  And feathers.....this is a new favorite shop for me.

I LOVE CATALOGS!

I know that the latest greatest thing is shopping on-line (lucky for me) and reading via e-books, but there is nothing that will ever replace the printed word on paper. Books, newpapers, magazines, catalogs, handwritten letters delivered by a mailman. The feel of the book in my hand, turning the pages by licking my fingers, the being a bad book lover by turning down the corner of a page when you can't find a bookmark, catching up on the local news, connecting with far away friends and family. And making wish lists for future purchases. It's such a shame that future generations may never know the simple joy of sitting down with a real book, or visiting a library. But for today, we still have the printed word, and for that I am grateful. Which brings me to my joy for today, catalogs that come in the mail. Today I received my Fire Mountain Gems catalog, and ohhhh the joy! hahaha. The colors, the beads, the findings.....I guess you just have to be a jewelry fanatic to understand :) I used to make jewelry years ago, and just recently re-discovered the fun of beads and started to list some pieces on Our Home To Yours, mine and Amanda's e-shop on Etsy. Now back to the subject of catalogs....I remember as a child getting the Sears Christmas Catalog and just spending hours with my sisters making up our Christmas wish list.  I think those were the only times we weren't fighting.  When I started my own home, the Brand Names catalog was essential.  And of course, FingerHut.  Today I watch my kids fight over the catalogs I get,

and it makes me smile.

Sunday's treasuries

I love spending my sunday afternoons (between church services) checking out the great new treasuries from members of my etsy Capsteam, and Besteam, and anyone that just likes to feature any of our items. ;p And now I will share them with you!!

First I have "For all your needs CAPS team" by kelseystreasure. This treasury features supplies as well as finished items. Next is "kitty cats and birdies". It's curator, Stationarycreations, picked, you guessed it, cat and bird items. So cute. And we have "every leaf" by purplerozelisa, which just happens to include our pretty leaf zippered pouch.

"CAPS cuddly d's everything dolls and dogs" by beachbabydoll. After all, you're never too old for dolls. Or dogs, lol. I love a sale!

Especially when I make one.  My vintage chip and dip glass bowl now has a new home :-)  It's times like this that keeps me plugging away on my Etsy shop.  Sometimes I feel so swamped with all the "extra" work to get our shop noticed, that I don't have time to create like I want to, or even to clean my house.  The other day I noticed that somedrew drew a picture in the dust on my piano, hahaha, so it's time to houseclean again. It's seems like I just did that (last month). Oh well, that's ok, because I MADE A SALE!
