My Guilty Pleasure

I hopped onto Pinterest last night to find some crafts to do with the kids when my boys come home for Thanksgiving this year, but I got sidetracked.

Which happens a lot to me when I get on Pinterest.

Do you want to know what my guilty pleasure is?

I do have about 28 pairs of shoes (at my last count), and on one trip back home for a 2 week visit, I took 2 Rubbermaid totes packed with just shoes, because, hey, you never know what you'll need.  Right?

Chuck thinks I need help, but all I really need is a closet like this...

So, what's your guilty pleasure, something you just can't get too much of?
Tell me, I promise I won't tell anyone else. :0)

Finding the Unusual on Pinterest

I love Pinterest, but it's a dangerous place to be.  You can start a search, and get lost there for days on end.  :0)
I enjoy being unique, after all I am of a "peculiar people" according to God, and He knows me best.  So let me share with you what I "discovered" today on Pinterest.

I think this is totally cool!  I remember as a kid taking my baths in a super huge (to me) claw foot bathtub.  Then along came the 80's and everyone switched these great tubs out for surround shower units.  Not nearly as cool looking, but easier to clean under.  The site for this pin is here.

I told Chuck that when we redecorate our living room, I want a fireplace.  What do you think of this one?  I'm pretty sure Chuck will veto it. hahaha
You can find the pin here, and the site here.

Ok, picture your favorite drunk trying to climb these stairs.  Enough said, lol
You can find the pin here, but the original site was blocked from by Norton Security.

hahahaha.
Here's another one for the party people.  You can find the pin here.

This will surely keep stray kids out of your yard.  I think he's a cutie.
Here's the pin.

I used to collect cows,
but,
ummmmm,
no!
:0)

Want the pin? Here.

I'll leave you with a great quote from a great woman.  How true is this in your life???
I found the pin here.

OK, now it's time to get back to work.  Tomorrow is my first farmers market.  Wish me luck.

Be blessed,

Throw back Thursday - Vintage on Pinterest

For today's throw back Thursday I went pinning for vintage.  Let's see what I found.

This photo has been pinned so many times (over 80) that finding the original site is hopeless.  But I love this tub.  Growing up we had a wonderful old claw foot bathtub just like this, and to a kid of 5 -8 it was like having an indoor pool.  I would still love to have one today.

I'm crazy for vintage suitcases.  I look at them and wonder about the people who owned them.  And when you open them up, and get that musty smell, I can only imaging the stories of their travels to exotic places.  It gives me a bit of the wanderlust.

I love the styles of clothing from the bygone eras.  Such class and femininity.  But these corsets? I probably couldn't get one leg in there.  And my waist? Forget it! lol

Well, those are my finds for today.  Are you "into" vintage or retro?  Do you sell or blog about those days? If so, leave your shop or blog link in the comment section so I can look you up.  Until then, here are a few of my fav vintage bloggers.

Until tomorrow,
Be blessed,
Debbi

Wild and Wacky Wednesday

Look what I found on Pinterest....

careful you don't put a run in your stockings with these.

This is a bird....love the feathers.

This is a flower....amazing.

Edible tulips...great for a spring picnic.

And now for something from my "what were they thinking" board

I like to give credit when possible, so if you click on the pictures you will be taken to the original site.  But be warned, you could get lost. hahahaha

Easter with the family - and my Pinterest wannabe's

This has been a very busy week, and I noticed today that I have not posted anything SINCE LAST WEDNESDAY!  opps, sorry.  So for your viewing pleasure, some family pictures from Easter dinner at Amanda and Brandon's house.  Also known as, how I killed some Pinterest ideas.
Amanda and Brandon doing the cooking.  I always had the meal at my house, but with their new home, we had Christmas and Easter at their house.  I have to admit, it was nice to not have to worry about cleaning up before (and after), or cooking.  Of course, I did bring the ham because Amanda wants to try a more vegan lifestyle, and when I told Chuck that she was making a vegetable casserole...well...have you seen the AT&T commercial with the new boyfriend coming over for lunch, but he's a vegetarian?  And at the end of the commercial when they are all sitting around the table?  Well, the expression on the father was a lot like Chucks.  LOL.  So I got him a ham.  And Brandon helped him eat it. hahaha

Boo loves to play with his Poppa, but he got tired of me yelling...
"say cheese" so he started to ignore me.  Here's Poppa trying to get him to look at me, yet again.

I don't like having my picture taken, but since I was dressed up, I thought I would take advantage of the situation.

Now for your utter enjoyment and out loud laughter, my pinterest wannabes....or... how I totally suck at cake decorating.

Now this is what the cake was suppose to look like...
...and this is how I killed it!
Now for the cookies.  This is what they were suppose to look like...
....and this is what they looked like!
Go ahead...laugh...we did!  At least they tasted better then they looked. :0)
So how was your Easter?
Be blessed,
Debbi

In the interest of Pinterest

Pinterest seems to be the latest bandwagon, and one I have never jumped on.  It just seemed like one more site to take me away from my other business pursuits...like crafting.  Now I'm glad I never got hooked, because it seems like it is not the wonderful site we all thought it was, so if you like to pin, you need to read this article from Technorati, "Pinterest Users Need To Read The Fine Print".  And just so you know, please do not pin our stuff, just tweet it and facebook it, and love it! heehee
